Life

Entrepreneur born in Pretoria in 1971, known for the companies SpaceX and Tesla. He appears on this site for one reason: at a conference in 2016 he said that, given the progress of video games, the odds that we live in "base reality" are very low. In doing so he popularised for the general public the simulation hypothesis formulated by the philosopher Nick Bostrom in 2003.
